Create and Manage Sync Tasks in FileBrowser Professional

Sync Files to your iPhone/iPad

Sync files to your device so you can access and edit them when you're offline. Changes can then be synchronized back to the original location when you're online.

• Tap the folder actions menu on the folder you want to sync.
• Select "Create Sync Task"
• Here you can change the preferences of your Sync Task.
• When ready, tap the blue tick and that's it.

Settings

Exclude List

Enter a comma separated list of files or folders to exclude. A * character can be used to match a part of a name.

For example:

• data.* excludes data.txt and data.jpg
• data* excludes files and folders starting with 'data'.

Sync Frequency

Set the minimum time between automatic synchronisation runs. Note that iOS will trigger background synchronisation on its own schedule, and disable it altogether if you force quit FileBrowser Professional.

File Types

Enter a comma separated list of file extensions for file types to include.

For example: 'jpg,jpeg,png'

Sync Files Between Two Remote Locations

Use Sync Tasks to synchronize files and folders directly between two remote locations, without needing to store the files locally on your iPhone or iPad.

Follow the same instructions as above but click on the "Edit" button above the FileBrowser icon. Select a new location to synchronise with the destination folder.

View Synchronized Folders and Check Sync Status

Check your Sync tasks by:

• Tapping the "All Tasks" Location on FileBrowser Professional's home screen.
• Select the "Sync" heading and your Sync Task will be listed with a status info.
• You can run this Sync again manually by tapping the play icon.
• View sync details by selecting "View Log" from the task’s menu.
