Windows 10 “Connection Refused” When Accessing Network Share
When connecting to a Windows 10 PC over the network with FileBrowser, you may see a “Connection refused” message.
There are two things you can try if connecting to a Windows 10 machine that gives this error.
Enable NetBIOS
This switch is in FileBrowser's machine configuration page for each machine.
- Edit your Windows machine location on FileBrowser's homescreen.
- Tap "Advanced Settings".
- Enable or Disable the "Enable NetBIOS" switch.
- Tap back and tap "Save".
Try connecting with the switch first OFF then ON because occasionally Windows 10 requires FileBrowser to use the NetBIOS protocol.
Firewall
Windows firewall may be blocking the network, see our firewall guide here.
